Public announcement: change in consular jurisdiction
The Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Maxime Prévot, has decided to reorganize the global network of Belgian Embassies and Consulates general. This reorganization of the network involves a change in the diplomatic and consular jurisdiction of the Belgian Embassy in Yaoundé.
The Belgian Embassy in Yaoundé is currently responsible for Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Central African Republic.
Following the reorganization of the network, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will be covered by the Belgian Embassy in Brazzaville, in principle as from the summer of 2026.
From that moment on, Belgian nationals residing in one of these two countries will be able to contact the Belgian Embassy in Brazzaville for consular services. You do not need to take any specific action at this time. You will be informed in due course of the date on which you will be officially registered with this Embassy and the arrangements for consular services.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding.
